Social media has been on fire since January 1, and this time, the fuel is celebrities. Besides the usual #CluelessBuhari vs #TyrantBuhari banter, celebrities and celebrity wannabes on social media, especially Twitter have thrown all caution to the wind.
This is a rundown of all the banter this January.
1. Olamide vs Don Jazzy.
The year kicked off with Olamide pulling a Kanye at the last Headies Awards. Don Jazzy clapped back promptly on that same stage with the legendary “come And collect” line
But Olamide did not stop there, he went to Twitter and opened the floodgates with the “leave trash For LAWMA” hashtag.
Even brands didn’t want to get left out in this one.
They reconciled a few days later and even shared a photo.
2. Dammy Krane vs Wizkid.
Dammy Krane was on Twitter days after, ranting about how he has the streets in his pocket and how Wizkid stole his song.
Wizkid’s reply? A glass cup to the enterkraner’s jaw.
3. Davido vs Everything with a Momodu attached to it.
This one opened the floor to baby mama drama for the year. Sophie Momodu is the damsel baby mama in Davido’s life. Dele Momodu posted about Davido and his family trying to kidnap his niece’s baby and the immigration coming to their rescue.
Davido’s clapback? A not so brief history of the Momodu family. Lets not forget someone invented a tool to save Davido more drama in that time.
4. Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi vs The Olumofin brothers.
This is simply a case of aproko meets mogbo moya. The battle might be finished but we know the war is far from over.
5. Blackface vs The entire universe.
Blackface is not happy. He has accused everyone of stealing his songs and even called out 2face again. Then he says Wizkid jacked his style.
We expect that in the coming days, Blackface is going to accuse Nigerians of stealing his country.
We’ll just be here waiting for him.
