Emily needed money badly. Her parents were a no-no, considering they did not even have any money to cater for themselves.
Emily got an interesting offer. The man was willing to give her fish to sell to make money, but he wanted something in return; her body.
It was a difficult choice, but Emily accepted his offer. For her, a bruised body was better than no body at all.
Emily wants to be an accountant, but now she’s full of doubt, because her Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is around the corner and the baby growing in her tummy is not helping matters.
But Emily is not alone, there are about nine other girls in her school in Ghana, who traded their bodies for fish, and they all have exams to write, and the babies in their tummies aren’t helping matters.
Their parents still cannot take care of them.
We might not be able to reach out to Emily, but there’s probably an Emily somewhere in your neighbourhood. Find her and make her life better.
Be the answer to her prayer.
